Teenager killed, two others injured in Plymouth car crash, authorities say

On Friday morning in Plymouth, Massachusetts, a tragic head-on collision claimed the life of an 18-year-old male and left two others injured. The crash occurred at approximately 8:30 a.m. near the area of 129 State Road. 

According to preliminary investigations, the young driver — identified in the article as Matthew Wilson, aged 18 — lost control of a Honda Civic he was driving. He crossed the solid double yellow line on the roadway and collided head-on with a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling in the opposite direction. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage to their front ends. 

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find Wilson unresponsive and trapped in his seat. He was extricated from the Civic and transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth, where he was later pronounced dead. 

The front passenger in the Honda, a 16-year-old boy from Plymouth, was also taken to South Shore Hospital; his injuries were not considered life-threatening. Likewise, the driver of the Jeep — a 47-year-old woman, also from Plymouth — was transported to the same hospital for treatment, and officials say her injuries likewise did not appear to be life-threatening. 

At the time of publication, authorities indicated that the crash remains under investigation.
